| Greetings from Centrepointe House |
A Center for Attitudinal Studies Leslie Bond and Jenny Deek 380 Centrepointe Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K2G 6A1 The capital of Canada! E-Mail: cphouse@compmore.net |

Centrepointe House is busy as usual with courses and workshops getting under way. Our newest news is about Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication. We have used his book as a reference for a course in "Seeing Conflict Differently" that we offer at the House. In the past year we have had the privledge of hosting Rachelle Lamb of Victoria, B.C.,(www.rachellelamb.com) who is a trainer certified by Marshall's Center for Nonviolent Communication and of attending a workshop with Marshall himself. It is our desire to become trainers simply to deepen our knowledge and expertise in this type of communication. We wish to share our enthusiasm for it with all of you. It is in alignment with Attitudinal Healing right down to some of the language. It is very helpful in understanding and truly communicating with others with its clear focus on feelings and needs. Like AH it is also simple but not easy. We thrive and hope all of you do too. Blessings for the New Year. Leslie Bond and Jenny Deek

Carol Nichols Longmont Colorado email: RevNichols@juno.comWe are still facilitating a very small A.H. group. As you may know, we moved to Loveland two years ago, so we moved our group 1/2 way between Boulder and Loveland to Longmont. We have a GIVE Program (Giving InVolves Everyone)... we help a life- threatened individual and their family (if they have a family that needs our help) during the holidays and afterwards if the individual or family needs our continued help. |
Our GIVE Program started in 1989 and has continued and expanded since we started facilitating A.H. in 1991. We are a small group, but oh so mighty in our efforts to help others. I think we need help to know where to go from here with A.H. - how to help it to grow, etc.I hope to hear from you or someone at the Center regarding the Gala event and our "call for help" regarding our efforts here in Loveland, Colorado. Blessings to you, Carol Nichols |

| Metro Detroit Center |

Laurie Pappas Metro Detroit Center for Attitudinal Healing Email: Lpapp3369@aol.comThe Detroit Center for AH is busy right now partnering with the Michigan Institute for Nonviolent Education and Marshall Rosenberg's Center for Nonviolent Communication to host an international conference called "Creating cultures of Peace, Nonviolence, and Prosperity," an event due to happen in April of 2005. |
We're excited to be forming this non-profit coalition, which will help Attitudinal Healing to be marketed all over the Metro Detroit area, which is a city in desperate need of healing in every way. We anticipate that the number of AH support groups will grow, and that more and more people will find out about AH, and know that this philosophy is available to them. Also we are working on a "Cities of Peace" project which includes AH as a modality which teaches peace, and can be made available to all the smaller cities within the Metro Detroit region through interaction with city councils and mayors. We're excited to be able to make AH available to so many new people, especially in a city so racially and ethnically mixed, and so much in need. Actually, Detroit has the largest Arab population of any U.S. city, and also a very large Jewish population. That in itself is fertile ground for doing much healing work, and bringing together people that may have not ever spoken to eachother before. The inner city here is one of the most poverty stricken in this country, so we figure that opportunity for transformation and growth is also at a peak here. Those of us who are involved know that Detroit is calling out for help, and we are grateful to be a part of the healing process. We in Michigan wish all other centers and groups a very Happy New Year, and a very peaceful and fulfilling year. With Love, Laurie Pappas MDCAHDiane Michelle Metro Detroit Center DianeMichele@msn.com I'm very excited about two programs I will be speaking for this weekend. On Saturday, I will be doing a three hour presentation on "The Deep Healing Power of Intuition," and on Sunday I will be doing a 2 and 1/4 hour presentation to the Michigan Counseling Association annual conference in Lansing, MI on "Forgiveness." I will be bringing Jerry's book and speaking about how I believe this topic is so necessary in our schools. I have been studying forgiveness for more than two decades and am so grateful to Jerry for all that he has done in this field - he has helped me so greatly. Way back in the 80's I wanted to be a part of anything that Jerry did - and am so grateful to have served as Co-Director of our AH center in Detroit and now as Regional Steward/International Advisor. You are much held in my heart. Love, Diane |

David Kirksey Cofounder & Executive Director Attitudinal Healing Coalition - Charlottesville Post Office Box 5132, Charlottesville VA 22905 Center Phone - (434) 984-4444 Center Email - info@helpinhealing.org David's Personal Email: david@davidkirksey.com AHC website - www.HelpInHealing.org (or use: www.AHCville.org)Our group continues to grow deeper into the Principles and the group process. We seem about to commit to our first official location. It will be a single room, but it will be ours 24/7. That's a good next step. After about 15 months of groups (weekly in 2003), our core group of about a dozen folks is gaining more and more of a vision and a feel for what we have co-created and what is possible. I have 4 reliable co-facilitators now, and I have even missed a few events in the past couple of months. Others are beginning to experience that they too are fully capable of leading groups and holding the energy and vision for our future as well. I have a lot on my plate, yet I do feel sad that I have not shared news from Charlottesville for your newsletter. Good work is being done here and recognition is deserved. Until next time, I send my best! David |

In addition to directing the Attitudinal Healing Center in Pune, I am on the Board of a wonderful organisation called ' Maher.' Maher is situated in a village about 40 kms from Pune. MAHER, in the local language, means' mother's home.'In India, a lot of importance is given to a woman's mother's home. A lot of formal rites are followed in the parents and married daughter's relationsip within families like the daughter going on particular occasions like 1st child birth to her ' maher.' Maher is a home for battered and abandoned women. We rehabitlitate the women, but keep some children there. Those who have single parents, but cannot be looked afetr by the parent. Currently, we have more than 200 children here. 2 House mothers are in charge of 20children and these 20 live in sub groups/ houses, in Maher with each house mother doing separate chores for her ' family.' The house mothers, too, were once the beneficiaries of Maher. It's a very very happy and healthy atmosphere, unlike other orphanages in India which are under staffed, over worked, over crowded. Maher is run by a wonderful Nun, Sister Lucy and until recently was looked after by the Nuns. Of late, there has been a lot of back lash on the missionaries here with some missionaries being murdered ( like Staines) in other states in India. Maher, too, faced some . But, Lucy wanted to bring a non communal flavour and so Maher was registered as a Trust and non christian missionaries came together for this. India is the only secular country in the world, this being in our Constitution and Maher is probably the only organisation in India which is truly secular . We have 2 priests. 2 nuns, Hindu doctors, 1 muslim doctor and 1 muslim computer specialist and me and others on the Board. For more information, visit the website.
