This is my first attempt at creating a website and I have no knowledge or experience in this area, so please bear with this very rough and dirty attempt! I am doing this now, in this way, because I just learned of a forum to be held in Montgomery county on Monday, Sept. 17 to address issues facing poor persons in Maryland. I also just learned about the Network of Care site that allows people in Maryland (and some other states) to easily create such websites.
Hence the confluence of these two very recent realizations prompted me to try to get up a site that might serve, at least temporarily, as an online site to capitalize on this forum and catalyze real grassroots advocacy to address the myriad, growing challenges so many of us face, as well as to provide a forum for exchanging relevant information, resources, ideas, questions, etc.
Given that the forum is tomorrow, and, to my knowledge, such forums or similar opportunities are rare, the premium here and now is on getting up a site, however rough,fast and dirty, and dealing with improving it and taking off the rough edges later, perhaps with your or others' help.
