Welcome to the CNMHC Far North Region web page. This web page was chosen as the Far North Regional Project last year, voted by the members attending the May 2009 meeting. The goal is to provide access to the membership and the community in order to support the promise of hope and independence that sustains the dignity of Individuals.
I am Joyce Ott, CNMC Far North Regional Coordinator, and since my introduction and involvement to the California Network of Mental Health Clients I have had the honor to serve in several capacities: as Board President and Board Representative 1996- 2000; as the Howie the Harp Recipient in 2000; and now as the Far North Regional Coordinator since 2001. My goal is to keep pace and adapt to our changing and lively atmosphere in providing education, technical assistance and, most of all. Hope to our membership. 800-626-7447 (message phone)

Carole Ford, Vice Chair, Lake County, Elected Director (2008-2010)
spoke to the committees she serves on as chair. The annual statewide & regional
Forum trainings and serve as vice chair on the executive Committee for 2 years. The
recommendation to the organization is to looking for funding to support the
communication of the members with the Board. To also to develop affiliates as one way the individual voice speaks as a group that will be brought to the full Board of Direct at the state level. We want the opportunity to properly represent the membership as a whole and provide the support that is needed based on their voice as a statewide group.
Kate Howe, Mendocino County, Appointed Director (2008- 2010) Served on the Cultural
Competency Committee provided a workshop on drumming. Her recommendation for the new board member was around creativity to find a way to participate when you have limited resources and access to the phone calls and computer connections when you live in rural areas. Communications is very important to stay involved with the projects or whatever is happening statewide and in the region.
Two Feathers, Mendocino County , Elected Director, (2009- 2011) he is Chair of the Cultural company committee, we did an ethnic server to get the makeup of our membership to complete one of Our “deliverables” to the funding source. The next question was the unserved and underserved populations? He started doing his own outreach with the limited resource (Stanford and Davis) and reported we had a very success outreach that meet another “deliverable” for the organization. Two Feathers is also on the Governance Committee. His recommendation is to do your homework and look to your peers for information and education to see what and where Regional Directors could help move the organization to meet its values, mission and goals.
