Service: A paratransit service called FLEX provides two different types of service:

FLEX Shuttle service consists of a series of shuttle stops throughout the City at key locations such as shopping, transit and community centers.

FLEX Curb-to-Curb service allows residents who qualify to call and make a reservation for a shuttle to pick them up and drop them off at a specific location within San Leandro. Out of Town Medical Trips within Alameda County are also provided. This service is by appointment only.

In addition, group trips are offered for San Leandro Community-based organizations serving seniors and people with disabilities. The Recreation and Human Services Department also offers Senior Day Trips. Call for information about group trips.

Hours: FLEX services are available weekdays. The FLEX Shuttle operates between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Curb-to-Curb service and Out of Town Medical Trips operate between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Service operates every weekday of the year except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Eligibility: The FLEX Shuttle is available to residents 60 years or older or at least 18 years old and East Bay Paratransit-certified. Curb-to-Curb service and Out of Town Medical Trips are available to residents 75 years or older or at least 18 years old and East Bay Paratransit-certified.
