The Older Adult Resource Center’s primary responsibility is to maintain a database of information on all licensed Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (60 years and older) and for Adults (18-59 years old) in Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and El Dorado Counties. The services provided are free to anyone looking for information about residential care facilities or other community resources. You do not need to be a Sacramento County resident to use our service. Here is how it works. Potential residents are matched with facilities that best meet their financial, personal care and supervision needs. They are then given a list of these facilities as well as information on how to interview and select a facility. We believe that information is key to understanding the system.
The Older Adult Resource Center staff provides information on the availability of different housing options such as; affordable housing, independent/retirement living, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities. Screeners help callers to understand the types of services available at each level of care.
The staff also provides information and/or referrals to community resources based on individual needs. Information is available on programs that help with needs such as; transportation, legal matters, socialization centers and utility discount programs.
