Workshop Presenter: Carleen MacKay, Workforce Policy Advisor to AARP/California

Across the nation, on stage, in print and on behalf of America’s smallest or largest firms and the maturing population themselves, Carleen MacKay inspires individuals, career coaches, recruiting professionals and organizational leaders to understand the competitive advantages an experienced workforce offers the American workplace. She is one a very few experts in the U.S. whose work life is specialized in this area. Carleen is the Workforce Policy Advisor to AARP/California, co-founder of her own firm - “Ageless in America” and author. The popular "Boom or Bust" was the first career management guide published exclusively for Boomers. It is considered the premiere book for people who seek to create and follow a serious plan for managing their mature work life. Her second co-authored book, "Return of the Boomers," addresses the economic storm we are continuing to experience and why leaders of American business need the mature workforce in order to sustain America’s competitive future. Her third book, written expressly for this event, is "Plan B for Boomers & Beyond." This short book’s premise is that if people wish to continue to earn, they must continue to learn. The copyright for this latest book is held by the San Diego Workforce Planning board and copies will be provided by them to all participants at the Learning Forum.
